Never used a slow cooker before, but it’s amazing no standing over ovens or hobs pop things in in the morning and it’s done at tea time when your ready, I even did meatballs and sauce in it the other day, prepared everything at lunch time ate about 6pm it actually adds hours to my day when otherwise I’d be cooking. Stews are great done in there aswell, we did one for sunday lunch for a change, it was so easy and we had sunday afternoon with nothing to do. The slow cooking bit makes any meats soft I used mince steak for the meatballs and really should have used the cheepest mince I could, so I’ll try that next time.
It’s a big trail and error thing here, though up to now no errors! Also it doesn’t steam up everywhere but warms the kitchen nice. So glad I bought it.

i’ve been very pleased with my wahl slow cooker it’s easy to clean cooks the food to perfection it takes the hassel out of making a casserole or stew as it’s cooking slowly does’nt boil dry , it can be kept on low for anyone whos deayed can have there meal later. and it definetly saves time.

having considered the pro’s and con’s of a slow cooker I decided on this one from Wahl, it is just the right size and well made, and not least it was a good price, ordered from Amazon and delivery was the usual Amazon standard(as always excellent) buy it with confidence and enjoy the benefits of slow-cooking

Normal fine service from Amazon when I ordered. However, unit was faulty and stayed at 90c cooking temperature whatever the selected setting.
Unit returned as faulty without any problem and at no cost to me. Amazon replaced item immediately and sent it out free of charge the next day. Super service again from Amazon. Had the choice of refund or replacement unit. Chose to have the unit replaced so hopefully the next one will work as designed.

A fine unit that performs perfectly. I also spoke to Wahl in the UK about it’s technical aspects and the unit met the specifications perfectly.
Albeit the first unit had to be returned I am pleased I opted for a replacement rather than choosing another brand. Very pleased.

This slow cooker is the perfect size at 6.5 liters but don’t be fooled. The 6.5 liter is the capacity up to the lip when the real capacity is 4.5 liters or so. It’s more than enough, however. Recipes that serve 10-12 people fit easily into this cooker.
The cooker is very easy to use having low, medium and high settings. That being said, I wish it had a timer on it. I’m trying some breakfast recipes that require 5 hours in the cooker on low and I just can’t see myself getting up that early in the morning (or staying up that late) to turn it on. I’m trying out a separate timer that goes in the plug to see how that all works out.
The plug that comes on the cooker is the standard UK 3-prong plug and does not come with the European standard plug so if you need the standard European 2-prong grounded plug you’d better be prepared to go and buy one.
The cooker is easy to use and easy to clean. Both the lid and ceramic dish clean up very nicely in the dishwasher. I even like the look of the ‘lift-out’ ceramic dish on its own. It’s very attractive and I’d happy to put that on any dinner table. The lid is glass which makes it nice and easy to check on your food without having to lift the lid and lose valuable heat. The outside of the cooker gets fairly warm when cooking.
The cooker is bulky and I’m having trouble trying to figure out where to put it but with that kind of capacity what could I expect? The oval shape is nice and does allow it to sit about anywhere. It comes with a few recipes but I’ve not yet tried any of them as I have a full-blown slow-cooker cook book. It’d probably be enough to get you started. I’d recommend this cooker to anyone, though I would suggest getting one with a timer.

We have used Slow Cookers for as long as I can remember but the oval cooker is really useful, in fact I bought two, and am very pleased indeed with way they function. Being oval they will accommodate a large joint of meat the size whole large chicken. Slow cooking is particularly useful method in that you can leave a family sized one-pot meal to cook all day whilst you go out. Also, because you are cooking at lower temperature, you can take full advantage of the cheaper cuts of meat which are usually much more flavoursome.
It has to be said that a 6.5 litre Slow Cooker does cook a lot of food which is fine for a large family, or if you cook for many guests, as I often do, or if you prepare food for freezing. But just for the two of us, to offer greater flexibility, I have also purchased a 3.5 litre model that functions equally well.

I really love this slow cooker. Dinner is cooked for you when you get in from work and the house smells lovely. Easy to clean. Great value. Just what is needed during the winter months and the large capasity is great for when you have a house full.

I have seen reviews for this product on other web pages that list a number of faults with it but as yet I have not encountered any of them, and wouldn’t be at all surprised if they were just a result of misuse. As long as you follow the basic (albeit fairly obvious) guidelines you can’t go wrong. The pot is a great size-it struck me that if I was going to do this type of cooking often then it would be false economy to buy small amounts of ingredients just to provide one meal, so I opted for the 6.5l capacity. You can easily get 10 portions out of it; freeze what you don’t use in the first sitting (I do this in single portions) and you have a healthy, tasty meal ready to go. I haven’t tried cooking large joints of meat in it yet, but I’m sure that when I do they will be fantastic. The meat I have put in my recipes has turned out so well, it just melts in the mouth. No need to splurge on expensive cuts either, the cheapest stewing steak or brisket is more than adequate. If you are catering for a larger group of people, prepare your ingredients the night before, put the slow cooker on in the morning and spend time with your guests rather than running to and from the kitchen trying to coordinate an over-complicated meal. When you think about it, it’s costing you money by not owning one.
